As the topic says - what personal info do banks match with your FF account before being able to successfully sweep points?

Do they match the entire name on your bank account with the entire name on the FF account? Just the first initial and last name on the FF account? Or nothing at all?

I'm talking specifically cards that earn QFF pts and automatically post to QFF account each statement period.

Thanks

Where you have the Qantas access you need to have the name of the points recipient as their computer has it plus the FF number so a match occurs. Having married a Smith I realize that many names are similar so using both name and FF number gets those points transferred safely.

So it's the full name then? Not just an initial?

You couldn't for example credit another family members points to your own account if you both had the same first initial and last name? EG Adam Smith & Alan Smith both being A Smith?

Whatever way Qantas has it in the initial registration is how we do it. So if it is Mr Adam G Smith that is what we use together with the FF number.

In my experience it has been last name and FF number only.

Hoping to transfer to multiple FF accounts soon(ish).

Cove is not a bank but I think the transfer rules would be quite similar. Woolies reconciliations would have been as hard as you could get and similar to the Big 4 banks reconciliations. Lucky that there are computers.

Citi has caused major problems in the past. They've blamed Qantas... Qantas blames them. For some reason my points were rejected for a few months because my QFF name didn't match theirs. Obviously, my QFF name matches my passport and my citi account matches the same - but they still couldn't fix it.

Citi eventually said the name they use for Qantas has to exactly match what is written on the FF card. Who knows with them though.
