a silly question. I need 40 status credts to retain gold class by 31st aug. Just so happens my planned trip for work gets postphoned for a couple of weeks.. >_<
Anyhow, now I need to try and score the extra 40 points myself. to top it off we got the election coming up so only 1 weekend left to do the flight...
Any advice for the best bang for the buck to get the 40 status point from Brisbane?
My current plans are flying the jetflex from bris- syd at about $239 each way for the 40 points, cause i am not too keen on doing 2 day trips to syd on the one day on the normal red e deals...
or bris - prosepine for $259 each way.
any advice would be much appreciated.

How many points do you have and do you mind using some for a JASA (business class Any Seat Award)? You could then find a cheap deal one way, return on a paid ticket for a lot less. You’d also get J lounge access. To SYD would get the 40SC in one hit.

I can see awards on either weekends left in August as low as 16,000 points and $54. Sounds like a great deal and a great way to re-qualify to me!

Oh, and welcome to AFF!

Cheers mate,
I got about 160000 points left right now, I think the business class any seat is about 20477 point?

If you’d clicked on it, and then got through to the next part of the booking, you can change how many points you use by adding cash into the mix, that’s how I got the 16,000 point figure with $54.

Go BNE-CBR JASA for 16K plus cash in J - that will get you 80 SCs via SYD.

But I would listen to markis10, always knows the best routes!

Sam is correct that why go to Canberra if you only need 40SCs.

A J Any Seat Award is your best friend.

Its the same base amount and a little bit more $$$ but you do get 40SCs extra for Lifetime calcs, and two J lounge visits :)

But you still need to get back from Canberra and Brisbane-Sydney is cheaper than Brisbane-Canberra.

Sure, $101 versus $123, if it was my money, I would be doing two JASAs, one on the last day of the month down with a return the next day, gives you 80 SCs towards requal for the next year if you go via SYD!

Do what I did to get PG for my wife. BNE-SYD-CBR-SYD-BNE discount economy for 40 SC. Can be done (as I write) on Thursday 26th for $363 - more on other days.
