While I understand your logic, personally I find that light beers have an adverse affect on me.

They make me gassy, urinate more and the next morning I always feel odd like a mini-hangover (a bit like MSG does to me too). My theory is that whatever they do to make it "light" affects the chemistry.

And then there is the taste of light beers.....or rather bad, or lack of, taste of a most light beers.

If there is only light beer available, I just pass instead.

So personally I just drink a few good beers with great taste. There are so many great tasting beers, of all different types, that I do not stick to any one type.

Also as a keen traveller, tasting the local brews is for me a fun part of the trip.
