More Partners.

800 Destinations.

One Standard of Excellence.

Does anyone else find the "One Standard of Excellence" ironic given the lack of consistent standards across their own flights - let alone network (flatbed J vs angle J, anyone?).
How can they even begin to claim this given the different service offerings of, say, AY Y vs QF Y or AA F vs QF F?

Bizzare.

Maybe time for a new thread:
More Partners, 800 Destinations, 500 examples of service inconsistency.

You ever seen any airline's statements to the public being honest and frank before?

It would be nice if QF could have consistency across their A330 fleet which do the transcon runs. The service is fine, 5/5, the seats....flip a coin anyone? J Class with 2-3-2 anyone? The seats are Y+, not J even with the middle blocked. If the middle seats are blocked, why not rip 'em out and put in skybeds?

I have now had a chance to sample all 3 versions of the A330's and if l were paying cash, only the Int Config would be worth the $1500+ QF charge in my books. But hey, each to their own.

I ask again, why do you need Skybeds for these flights, unless you are doing the midnight horrors ex-PER?

If the JQ 332's come back to QF domestic, they will not be getting Skybeds, as they can not handle them.

Domestically, I feel an updated Dreamtime type seat (pitch included) would be most ideal for J.

You ever seen any companies statements to the public being honest and frank before?

Sorry, I corrected that statement for you.

IMHO Companies marketing departments deliberately do not talk to their complaints department so there is plausible deniability when it comes to their marketing messages not equating actual experience.

Also "one standard of excellence" is weasel words at it's finest. How is excellence defined? If they pick a pretty low denominator as their standard of excellence, any flight above it will have reached that standard of excellence, in fact how is excellence measured in the first place? The plane go me from A to B and didn't crash, to me that's pretty excellent.

Yes, l have done the red eyes as you mentioned and was disappointed when l entered to find the 2-3-2 layout. I don't think l slept at all.

Having a consistent product is also something which a company should strive for. At the moment, it's a mix'n'match of several variants of J seats you could end up with.
They skybed's are fantastic and QF is a 'premium' airline, why not put the best you have, in?

I agree on a consistent product, but Skybed for domestic is overkill.

Would you not label CX a premium carrier, yet do they not have three types of J? Take regional J for example, it wasn't too long ago that it was coming to PER. HKG-PER is just about double a PER-MEL or PER-SYD is it not?

No one is going to say that when VA push out (or now that they've pushed out) their new 330s with flat (full or angled?) seats in J.

It is obviously a direct answer to VA's similar statement............something about more flights with thier partners.

My car is meant to be the ultimate driving machine, according to its manufacturer, but I reckon that a Ferrari or a Zonda would be closer to an ultimate driving machine than my midrange sedan.

The cafe down the road from my house says on a blackboard outside "Hobarts best coffee", but in reality it isn't.

To answer your question, these people are on planet marketing, and so are most other businesses in the world.

Still think for the length of the flights transcon, it is overkill. We sure can get spoilt domestically.

Ideally, I think the 3 levels of product QF should have would be regional (i.e 717/Q400 etc), Short Haul International (TT) / Domestic (737, 767 and 332) and International (333, 747 and 380). Unfortunately, it just baffles me the changes they make to products (such as the Newest 4 domestic A330's) as it does nothing for consistency what so ever.

In terms of the OP, those comments come from people doing what they are getting paid to do. Nothing more nothing less.

Datsun did make grand comments about their 120Y :p

Vision/Mission statements always make me smile

120Y was the only car that would reverse up my aunt's driveway. They took a sizeable portion of the easement next to their property to have a turn around area for the other cars.

Bought my first car in 1975 - a brand new, yellow Datsun 120Y hatchback... loved it
