Hi All,

I have entered the upgrade lottery on QF127 tomorrow (SYD-HKG). Up until 5 minutes ago, seat counter was showing C9D9J9T9, so I was fairly happy with my chances of getting a J upgrade, but within the last 5 minutes, it drops to C3D3J4T3!! It is now 21 hours to departure, and the upgrade segment has been waitlisted (which means nothing of course).

Have the available seats dropped in J and T because of last minute bookings, or because upgrades have started being allocated? I'd appreciate an idea on how likely I am to get upgraded, perhaps from someone with access to EF. I have requested a business upgrade and failing this an upgrade to T. I have SG status with QF.

Thanks for the assistance.

At T-21 hours, my best guess is that they have started processing upgrades for the flight. The upgrade process can take several hours before you see any confirmation. In my experience, one of the first signs of upgrade success is a reduction in my QFF account balance.

You were right NM, it change from declined to confirmed a couple of hours ago (T -14). Guess I was fortunate in the lottery this time :).

Enjoy the flight, i love it when an upgrade is confirmed :)
Good time to be looking for them given the current reduced F/J demand, then again never on the flights i seem to take.
