What would you do with 520K QFF points?

Well, status isn't really meaningful if they don't fly much.

Given they are asking what to spend their points on, and didn't earn them from flying..... what is the point of being platinum for 12 months?

You could do something like:
Syd-New York- Frankfurt - Amsterdam - -Helsinki - Tokyo (via Frankfurt or London, I suppose?) - Syd

Perhaps that would be even cheaper than 280k points each., you'd have to check.

Or, you could go first class on the above route for 480k points (or cheaper)...

Or 4 * economy for 560k points.

(business class will equate to taxes of around $750 or so, in addition to the points)... not sure of economy/first taxes, but I THINK they are the same.

With my current mind set I will only use my points on flights and more specifically Oneworld awards.

Up until recently I was striving to reach 4 Oneworld awards in the bag. Now I have over 600,000 points I am striving to make it 5 Oneworld awards.

I do not really want to use points on upgrades for 1-2 flights when for the same points I can book a Oneworld award to visit 5 new destinations round the world somewhere.

One of these days I am going to find to the time to spend these points....

I had been sitting on 1M+ points for some time, while still using plenty for F and J upgrades and the odd JASA.

I decided that I liking to be above that nice round number was irrational, so I've spent a few recently on frivolous things - but always flights.

Buying stuff at the shop is not my thing.
