What's with the Lexus push? Does nothing for me

Yet another email today. QFF do seem to be pushing this Lexus competition hard, but do they really think it will make many of us feel warm and fuzzy towards them after what they did last month?

Since the changes were announced, from zero the Bearded One’s toy airline is now getting 60% of our company’s internal flights and our six monthly Europe flights are now with anyone but Qantas or similar blue blob airlines. (We’ll still probably do enough internal to keep Silver though.)

But does QFF really think that the chance to win a Lexus is going to make me go weak at the knees and transfer all my points accrued on various cards so I can lock myself in to them?

I realise that all we are to them is self loading cargo, but surely they don’t think we’re that stupid?

And this is from someone who used to pay more just so he could fly Q – I was that loyal a customer once. I feel quite sad.

I take it that you did not win a Lexus then. I had 200,000 entries in this draw and I didn't win either. I was most disappointed.

It is going to be attrractive to some, and not to others. Qantas stands to win by encouraging people to move their stored credit card points to QF, for which the CC companies pay Qantas real money. And once the points are in the QF program, they can't be moved out, just used for QF provided awards. So QF has probably added a considerable amount of revenue from tha sale of FF points during this promotion period.

not to mention its also a huge promotion for lexus... seeing those RRP's doesnt make me want to buy one though!

Lexus are great

Well I love our Lexus, or should i say MY Lexus as I paid for it. They are fantastic cars.

However, I never get to drive it as the hubby has snavelled it for himself. So I transferred lots of points in the hope that I would win one, and then when we had two of them I was bound to get to drive one. :) Though probably the old one

But I do agree it was a stupid competition - cause I didn't win :x

I must be a true cynic of QF's marketing and didn't transfer any of my CC points (around 300K) to my QF account. I want to continue to have the flexibility of moving them where I want (even though I will probably use them eventually through QF).

Chances of winning a Lexus were so slim, so why bother. I'm not a Lexus fan anyway...give me a Honda Accord VTiL or CRV anyday...

No use to a family man. I need to replace my current 1983 XE Falcon with a Crysler Grand Voyager. The Honda will have to wait until the Mini-NMs are all gone  .
