When does my new card arrive?!

Having been "Lifetime Bronze" since 1994, I suddenly find myself at Gold, due to a flurry of post-retirement OS travel in J in the past membership year!
So my question is how soon after graduation do they send out the new card?
Reason for asking is I use my card for OS money, and if they issue me a new gold coloured one after I head off again, that might not be helpful in accessing funds if my current card is automatically cancelled!!

It's not automatically cancelled. You have to activate the new one first.

Let us know if you actually receive a new card.

My anniversary was August last year and I never received a new card - despite having QF money activated - not that I’d actually ever use that feature. You’re better off with one of many free debit or credit cards that don’t charge international transaction fees. eg Latitude 28° MC, UBank Visa debit etc.

Will do!
I realise that the QF money isn't the best option - it's more of the "card of last resort". Being on super now, with technically zero income, I think the new card application horse has already bolted!!

Neither my wife or I have received new cards for a few years - both have QF Money activated.

We are both WP, and both applied for Status Hold about a month ago. Both approved.

She received a new card showing the extended renewal date, and a bit of a Status Hold cardboard insert.

I received nothing. Usual Qantas consistency.

If you have QF Money activated, there needs to be at balance or activity in the past 12 months - and then they'll issue a new card every year.

So I always keep $1 on my QF Money :)

Yes, I’m telling all my friends to get their CC situation in order before retiring.

But there’s no impediment to opening one of the many bank accounts that come with no international transaction fees on the associated Debit Card (also usually with free OS ATM access - other than what the ATM provider might charge). UBank has proved quite useful - also has a very high interest saver account.

Looks like a bit more than $50 for the coasters on eBay

Those are the vintage dual tag packs - note the logo design. I'm pretty sure new membership packs only come with one tag.

Anyway, this post has reminded me to place my annual WP tag order - usually good for $80-100.

That's good to know, thanks!

So, a bit under two weeks in your case. Thanks for the update! We'll store the delivery time into the vast sea of data points for the next one who'll ask about it.
