Hi guys,

Mrs MatF and I are flying HKG-SYD on QF128, 14th Jan 2011.
The flight departs HKG at 20:10 local time.

We're going to try for a points upgrade from Discount Economy (Red-E-Deal L class) to Business, and I'd like to get the request in as early as possible.

When exactly would the earliest possible time be? Is it 3 months, 90 days? something else?

All help much appreciated!!

Cheers,
Mat.

Oh you're lucky it booked into L.

In any case, the upgrade window opens precisely 90 days prior to departure.

Yes, was very lucky with the class - didn't even think about it at the time.

So ... if my calcs are correct (and they often aren't!), that would be 23:10 on the 16th of October (allowing for daylight savings) ... which coincidentally is my birthday. Not sure I'll be capable at that time!

Online it's exactly T-2160 hours.

You can call QFF on the day and make a request.

Not that that matters any more.

Thanks serfty.

Do we believe that "time of upgrade request" is no longer a factor?

So hard to keep up!

So I guess I'll apply for the upgrade as soon as it becomes available. I guess it can't hurt!

Goodluck! And no it can't hurt to put it in early but it's hypothesised that may only come into play if there was somehow a tie with the other deciding factors... And that would be quite rare I imagine.
