I got a real shock when I went into the MEL Lounge last weekend. I estimate at LEAST 50% of it was closed off with hoarding and it looked awful. It was hard to find a place to sit and walking through a wooden corridor to get to the toilets was not pleasant. I understand you are expanding it but closing off 2 major sections at once not only significantly reduces the space, but also makes it look terrible. I can't imagine what it will be like at 6pm on Friday when I'm there again. I'm sure it will looks fantastic when its all finished.

When will it be finished and why did you close off two major sections at once?

Thanks

Standing room only at 330pm last Wednesday.

Really needs a hurry up.

The last time it was done, the Lounge closed down, and all we got were vouchers for sub-standard cafe food. This is a better option IMO.

18 days and no reply, VFF?

I read on the VA Retro A330 thread that the new section is open today.

Lounge will be completely open tomorrow and feature a new unique expresso bar.

I've just been in for a quick look. The espresso bar and surrounds is nice, but I can't see the section they're opening tomorrow dramatically increasing capacity. And the area near the toilets/quiet zone is still boarded up.

From Facebook:
We’re excited to give you a sneak peek into our newly renovated Melbourne lounge! The new wing, which features our first lounge espresso bar and expansive views across the tarmac, will be open later today.
