I've been meaning to post this for 4 days - I received an email from Velocity with the subject "Where could your hotel points take you?"
It links out to: https://www.velocityfrequentflyer.com/content/Earn/Accommodation/points-transfer/

The body is:

Your hotel points can become Velocity Points

Get closer to flights and flight upgrades with your hotel points. There’s never been a better time to check-out your hotel points, straight into Velocity. Minimum points transfer applies.
Transfer your hotel points to your Velocity account before 30 June 2017 and you’ll
be rewarded with 20% bonus Velocity Points.

I think I'll use it to transfer some small balances of hotel points which will otherwise expire and aren't enough to book hotel rooms outright, but is it worth it for large numbers of points I wonder?

In my opinion not really worth it for large points balances as the transfer rate is very poor to Velocity.

Wow those exchange rates are cough.

10-16k Choice Hotel points will get you a free hotel night in most of Australia. Say that is worth 100-150 AUD. But it's only worth about 2,000 Velocity points.
