Any ideas on where to spend 2-3 weeks for a White Christmas. :?: We are in our mid 50's and like a bit of pampering, but does not need to be 5 star. We do not ski.

We landed in NYC on Christmas eve for our white Christmas. However, it was the hottest December in history, despite the previous 2 years it started snowing in October. Even without the snow, ice skating in central park, the Rockettes at Madison Square Garden, the windows at Sak's fifth avenue and the Christmas tree at Rockefeller were all things we had seen in movies and shows since we were little kids and was truly magical to see in real life. It is very expensive and very busy so don't expect too much pampering unless you are staying somewhere like St Regis or the Plaza.

One thing we found very strange was the sun coming up after 8am and going down by 4pm. A little unpleasant weather and there wasn't much of a day to waste, so have time up your sleeve as it is the norm rather than the exception.

Welcome to UK.

I've had several white Christmases in the UK.

a bit older but also don't ski and and planning a White Christmas this year - criteria has to be that there will be snow so that rules out NY and UK - current thinking is the Dolomites

We were there Dec 21-25. Unseasonably Warm as you described. Christmas tree at the Rock was interesting in that such an attraction usually draws a lot of the stroller crowd. Felt sorry for the little kiddies as it was well past their bedtime but they were forced by their parents to go and stay awak.

Saw several shows but could not get into Hamilton.

Am looking for Xmas in the LOTFAP but not NYC or LAS.
Any suggestions?

The last few years we've enjoyed White Xmas in the following places...

Quebec
Norway
NYC/DC
Bergamo
