Hi folks,

looking for some assistance to confirm my calculations if anyone's willing to indulge. flights were taken early Dec.

QF
AA

DFW-SYD. booked as AA flight number
8,500 QF points, 100 SC
8,578 (taken from great circle mapper)

booking code H - which i believe is flexible economy on QF (info taken from here https://www.qantas.com/fflyer/dyn/flying/airline-earning#aa)

looking at AA - it appears booking class H is classified as discount economy but still a 1:1 earn (https://www.aa.com/i18n/AAdvantage/earnMiles/airlines/american.jsp)

member is bronze and an infrequent traveller (so SC not a factor) - basically do i just need to consider which points are more valuable/ will be used?

follow up question - there will be some short (<500 mile) flights in March, booking class S.

does this earn the 500 AA minimum? or alternatively 300 QF & 10 SC?

apologies if this isn't very clear

Perhaps AS? Give you as many points as AA. Also provides you with elite benefits on AA and DL when you reach status. Plus, there isn't a planned devaluation like AA. Do you have and CC spend? But even then I would say AS is a better choice.
