The corporate I work for has just decided that Hertz is the company to be used for all car hire in Asia-Pacific. Fine, I guess the bean-counters have to emulate progress with occasional changes. But when I signed up to company-organised discount and gold membership - there is no option for Qantas FF.

Where should I direct my points instead? Or is there some benefit in leaving the default Hertz points selected? I probably only have a hire car a few times each year, but it was nice to see the QFF points.

Hertz credit to Velocity but I mostly use them to credit to VS Flying Club, as its 1100 points per rental for a gold member.

Thanks for the suggestion, but with only a single flight on Virgin brands, I might as well leave it in the Hertz points!

Mine go to Virgin Atlantic as 40,000 VS miles + ~AUD240 is a one way business class SYD-HKG.

I did not realise you had the option to collect Hertz points.

Hertz points are poor value, airline partners are better, if your crediting to Velocity at least it's easy to burn points on shopping at Westfield.com as a worst case scenario, which includes JB HiFi etc.

Is the code for Virgin Atlantic in the frequent flyer field of Hertz's computer system VS? Or VA? (I know that Hertz still uses DJ for Virgin Australia as my hire rental contract defaulted to that and the lady at the counter didn't know about Virgin Atlantic.)

Its VS, I put a little blurb I the comments section of each rental to say use VS for FF credit.
