Hello

I have been studying he site for a few days but still can't decide which program is best for me...

I'm based in Sydney for Southern Hemisphere Summer & UK for Northern Summer...

This year I will have flown to the states twice from
the UK & once from AUS, to europe twice from AUS, and many inner Euro flights.

I have been price dependent, so not always the same carrier but i'm a QF member but most of
my flights have been with AA & BA (trying to stick with Oneworld), I like flying BA but it seems Australians can't be BA members.

this year I will have flown mainly BA & AA not QF so is it worth going with one of them?

I'm open to all options
currently looking into BMI & united

thank you in advance

Welcome to AFF

If you fly BA & AA you can, depending on the booking class, get QF points
If you fly QF & AA you can, depending on the booking class, get BA miles
Look at the web sites. that shows what other airlines you can get miles/points for.
If you have a UK address no problem getting BA miles
Where will you long term UK or Aust ?

Miles / points from credit cards are a good earner for many

You are better to put all your Oneworld flights into one freq flyer program (if they are a eligible:- some are not)
AA is considered a better program than QF for many people. Every one if different

Really does depend on what you want out of your program.
If awards then AA would be a better program as burn rate usually significantly less using AA miles.
If using points for upgrading then it depends which flights you want upgraded. If a QF flight you have to be in QFF.
However with Aadvantage you can now use your AA miles on BA and IB as well to upgrade.
If you want life time status that is now going to be QFF in most instances-AA is about to change their lifetime qualification requirements.
If you are more interested in status then often QFF is easier but not always.Depends on the fare classes you use.

So in my case I am in the AA program because we want premium cabin awards.
We also like using Flounges so mrsdrron is in QFF because with our travel pattern it is easier to maintain top status on QF than AA.
However another benefit is that when on a Circle fare or DONE I can upgrade the AA sectors and she can upgrade the QF sectors.
