Silly question perhaps but does anyone know which rental mobs apply separate rentals for consecutive days.I did this with Hertz (two bookings, same town, consecutive days - pick-up Tuesday, drop off completed Wednesday and pick up same vehicle at the same time and drop off Thursday). Credited as two rentals. Is this the norm for all car rental cos in Oz?

Norm AFAIK, strangely I do up to four Avis rentals each time I go to DRW, had the branch manager ask why, said branch manager has now joined flying club ;). It also a handy way to kill premium location charges if you first have to pick up at an airport or downtown location that has a large surcharge on the rental.

Thanks. I used the semi-truthful reason of ease for me to bill clients. The gent I was speaking to was having a deal of difficulty in understanding why I wished to change cars......I had enough trouble explaining that I was not changing cars (the pox-box Yaris was fine), I couldn't bear trying to explain flying club as well!

So far then.......Hertz and Avis, yes. I can't recall ever trying it with Europcar and I don't use the rest.
