Why can i get there but i cant get back?

As most of you would know i live in HBA. Im trying to book some award flights from HBA - AKL for the wife and i as a bit of a surprise treat. The most amusing thing is i can get there on almost any day and quite easily...

The problem is a can't get back! There isn't a return flight from AKL - HBA. Why??? I have to book it as 2 separate flights!

Anyone else noticed this? How do you get around it? By booking to 2 separate sectors?

Which airline and dates are you trying?

DJ. 20th to the 24th of April.

The scheduler says that there is a flight every day at varying times but it doesn't translate into the actual booking engine.

I juist tried a dummy booking on the velcoity site.

It gave me the following options for HBA-AKL ret (both are anytime seats though)

and then returning
