From May 22nd Hawaiian Airlines HNL-SYD daily service will be operated by Airbus A332 aircraft which will replace the 763's currently operating on that route. This is HA451 and HA452 return. This service is a VA codeshare, VA6971 and VA6970.
When you look on the HA website or put in the HA flight number into expert flyer the service is an A332. If you go to the Virgin website or put the VA flight number into EF it comes up as a 763.
Is it therefore necessary for airlines, in this case Virgin, to manually update the information in their own system before it shows on EF or Amadeus, even though the operating carrier changed the aircraft and information months ago? Is part of the glitch here that HA use Sabre and VA use Amadeus?
Thoughts appreciated.
