Does anyone know, is it possible to get on a widebody flight domestically with PE hard product seats? (Still Y service). Which routes if any is this possible for?

I don't think so.
The only wide bodies with W seats flying domestic sectors are the 787s between PER and MEL/SYD on their way to/from LHR and FCO (seasonal).
They sell the W seats on those sectors, but not to domestic pax. Thus they won't be available to select for people only traveling domestically.

I thought Qantas did sell premium economy on MEL-PER (QF9) and SYD-PER (QF5)? At the very least, you can certainly upgrade with points into W from Y on those flights.

hmm...
Expert Flyer says they do, but there was also an article recently (either here or on ET) that said they didn't. o_O

Wouldn't have been an article on here ;)

I flew Mel Perth and return pre Covid in W if that is Premium Economy

Yes, W is a code for Premium Economy :)
