Qantas says it is just a suspension. This is a very good route and I have used it as an excellent connector to the North American continent travelling from Perth. Why go via 2 domestic hubs in SYD and LAX when you can say goodbye to your luggage in PER and not see it again until NYC or O'Hare or any number of other North American cities using AA or JAL from NRT as a connection?
As a new member and supporter of QANTAS resuming this route, I would be interested to hear from like minded travellers who have been inconvenienced by this change, perhaps some lovers of the powder snow in the Japanese winter!
PS:I don't want it replaced with Jetstar.

Note you could connect in HKG onto CX/Others into Nth America.

QF will be looking for point-to-point business to recover before recommencing. Presumably they would currently route you via HKG or (less conveniently) SYD currently?

I know this is a little off topic but of late I have been finding the QF international offering extremely limited. They are just not offering the variety out of Oz that I think could be offered. I dunno....

As long as they retire the 767s!! Worst value J class of the major carriers I've ever sat in. :!:

Otherwise as stated getting to the USA through HKG is a good bet.

CSD on my recent PER-SIN flight implied PER-NRT is not going to restart any time soon. Given QF only flies PER-HKG 3x weekly, maybe they should consider PER-HKG-HND/NRT

If you're using AA to connect, you're probably going to say goodbye to your luggage in PER and not see it again .... ever ;)
