Until 30 June 2008, transfer your points from a participating Partner Loyalty Program into the Qantas Frequent Flyer program, and you could win a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Africa for two people and a A$1,000 duty-free spending spree. The more points you transfer, the more chances you have to win!

The funny thing about this promotion is that it says to get the points in by July as there ARE exciting program changes happening so you can use your points in more ways.

What it should say is to get your points into QFF by July because you're going to need every point you can find to redeem flights under the new "any flight" increases!!

I am pretty sure they have popped along with some promotion or another to encourage people to 'buy' points May/June for the last few years.

That is to help their current financial year earnings.

Everytime you transfer from a CC to QFF, the credit card company has to pay QF money!

I would love to win a trip to Africa but I don't think I will be transferring any hotel points to QF this time around.

Even though this is going slightly off-topic does anyone feel it is worthwhile to transfer points from a hotel guest program to an airline FF program? I can understand transferring hotel points if you had dormant hotel points or they were about to expire and you had no planned travel but under normal circumstances why would one bother to transfer hotel points? The conversion ratio of 10,000 PC points for 2,000 QFF points seems very poor if you take into consideration Pointbreaks but even excluding Pointbreaks from the equation 15,000 PC points is worth ~$150-$200 possibly even more.

To use FF points for free flights means I am also likely to be incurring some other costs such as taxes, accommodation, transfers etc. I can use hotel points for a family vacation within driving distance of home. This way my family benefits from my points and I can actually get a very inexpensive vacation.

So for me, hotel points are more valuable in the hotel program than in the FF program. Others will be in different situations.

I use mine in a different way, but still in the Hotel program (Gold Passport) I use mine for 4 night room upgrades when staying at the Hyatt.
