Had a pleasant flight Mon on QF767, operated by a 767 BNE-PER. Aircraft okay, glad to have IPad movies. Crew excellent. Have submitted feedback on-line.

Return journey yesterday ...inbound QF577 frm SYD significantly delayed by wind and possible resultant damage, and the return journey to SYD would have missed curfew. So it seems the aged 767 scheduled to operate QF594 to Brisbane, already in PER, was swapped to do the SYD run and hence meet curfew. The inbound aircraft and crew from SYD than operated a 60 min delayed flight to BNE. The result: A330-300 with personal IFE, a crew expecting to be home in SYD for the night stranded in BNE with no change of clothes etc for a minimum 10 hour break before likely deadheading home and probably a BNE based crew inadvertently spending the night in SYD and the 767 and A300-330 displaced!

Felt sorry for the A300 rew. Only a couple of weeks ago they were stuck sleeping on the aircraft in HKG because of the typhoon and all hotels checkers. Passengers took blankets and pillows from the plane there and slept n the terminal.

For this week's flights, catering on both flights okay. Love the Weiss bar but don't know why some people rave about cookies and cream ice cream. Funny how they cater for gluten free meals but not a substitute for such ice ream. Thought cross-continent catering was meant to be international standard but was wrongly expecting some green salad stuff and a bread roll.

Anyone know how they get the aircraft back on the right cycles? Any crew thoughtsnn their feelings with such WX problems?
