Has anyone been to Wolfe Creek National park? It has popped up on my Radar, never on my bucket list, but the idea of standing in the worlds 2nd largest meteor crater somehow enthrals me :)

Looking at access, a 4x4 rental ex Kununrra would be the easiest over say Broome, however, flight timetables seem to turn a 2 day adventure into 4-5 days which would push this out to Easter so I don't need to take annual leave.

Looking forward to anyone's experiences (if any) of going to Wolfe Creek

Better off taking the 4-5 day option plus more. Good luck driving there and back in two days, plenty to see on the way, you might be surprised!:) Biggest mistake made by tourists up there is not allowing enough time.

Went there in 2009, day trip from Halls Creek during our Savannah Way Cairns-Broome-Cairns trip.
Great site, there is a camping ground near the national park otherwise Halls Creek I think.
Around a 300km's round trip from Halls Creek, all dirt of course.

munitalP, if your planning to hire a 4x4 from Kununurra, you can't go past the
Bungle Bungle's don a white shirt and start singing.
