Hi

I'm a newbie to this site, as of yesterday. I was led here by a teaser offering $200 off QANTAS Club membership.

However having paid my $35 I find the teaser wasn't applicable for the individual traveller (unless I've read the info wrong, which I could only access after I'd paid up).

I have just clicked on a link above which offers the chance to win 1 milllion QF F/F points with a Thrifty Car hire only to find the offer was applicable back in 2008!!!!!!!!!!!!

So what gives? Have I spent $35 to access offers which are nothing more than teasers?

This site is great, I love the info available and the comments from members but I am wondering about these "offers".

Many thanks
Higheden

Welcome to the community, the offer you mentioned is open to individuals who join the community scheme, so its applicable to you. I am not sure what you mean by the thrifty offer, often you will see threads listed that have similar content to the one you are reading and that may include those posted at the time of the one you are reading.

Hi- thank you for responding.
How do I take advanatage of the QANTAS Club offer please? I can't figure it out.

The Thrifty offer is a small oneliner at the very top of this page, not part of a thread or a post (the site won't let me post it here as I've not had enough posts yet) - its positioned just under the verbiage line which says:
New Posts Private Messages Posting Guidelines etc;

Many thanks

The Thrifty offer could be an advert, but as a paid up member now, you shouldn’t be seeing adverts. When your account switches from free to paid (as it sounds like it hasn’t yet) you’ll get access to this sub-forum:

http://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/gold-membership-privileges/

Inside will be instructions on how you can save money on your Qantas Club membership, follow them exactly and it’s a very painless procedure ;)

However I’d recommend sending a PM to admin first, to see about making sure your account is enabled the way it should be ;)

Higheden, welcome to AFF.

Send a PM (Private Message) to "Admin" and he will provide you the relevant Qantas Club membership application form. You then complete the form and return to Admin who completes the AFF "Corporate Membership" details and submits to Qantas.

If your God Membership has been processed, you should have access to the Gold Members Privileges forum:

http://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/gold-membership-privileges/

There is a sticky thread in that forum that explains the process and even includes a link to the application form.

this sounds like an adverting link. If the offer has expired, then Admin should follow up with the advertiser. As a Gold member you should not see ads displayed. So this implies to me that your Gold Membership has not yet been activated, which I think is a manual process actioned by Admin.

Thank you - It does say I don't have access to the link you've posted so I will contact admin.

Would a new member with low post count have access to a PM facility yet?

And how do you get "God" membership :mrgreen: (I really should not pick on spelling/grammar mistakes, it will come back to haunt me 100 times at least).

higheden mentioned $35.

I believe Gold Membership is $50.
