Would a JASA from QF qualify for the Status challenge?

Quick one, was thinking about the status challenge from AA. Would a JASA booked in a approriate code ie J qualify for the status challenge with AA. Was thinking that i could put my AA number on it in the lounge before the flight

No, because the best value JASAs still book into award buckets meaning no earning on AA. Not sure if anyone has tried the 1M point options to see which bucket they book into!

Ah ok, thanks markis10 for that, is there a way to see the code before i purchase to see what fare bucket its put in? tried to do a dummy booking and all it said was business saver
