Quick question regarding the free upgrades WP's receive - I have 4 that expire in April. If I book flights for after the expiry date but call and redeem the upgrades before they expire, there won't be any issues?

Planning on heading to Perth (preferably from Brisbane) but any ideas on 330 availability? I know they're being used for HKG but are there any capital cities still using them? TBH only using the upgrades for a random trip as I don't have any decent domestic or short haul-INTL flights coming up so I'm open to suggestions on worthwhile flights to use them.

Thanks in advance

As long as you assign the upgrades before they expire you will be fine.

One thing to note however, once you pass the original expiry date, you will not be able to change flights and move the upgrade as well.

I use all my upgrades on BNE-PER with no problems at all as long as I book a few months in advance (they are going down to only three flights a week however).

They (VA) can change from a 330 planned plane to a 737, so don't get your hopes up, till you are seated in that J cabin of a 330.
And, yes, I have tried a 330 PER - SYD in J a few years back, this was when the lounge was in T3 downstairs in PER.
BNE VA lounge is very good. Visited in Dec last year.

Generally speaking it seems you'll get an A330 on Sunday afternoon more often than not. But it's a risk either way, that's for sure.

I'd feel a bit lame getting the 737, especially if one was WP with free Economy X.

Thanks for the replies, I'm not too phased about the plane used but I'm taking mum and she's only ever done J in SYD - OOL so her mind will be blown if we score a 330 :)

I took my mum to PER last year BNE-SYD-PER and return. She was furious that we had to fly via SYD until she got on board the A330, now she'll never fly Y again...
