WP Lounge options in KUL

Hi Folks,

I'm a WP flying out of KUL to SYD on the 3K686/QF2 connection. What lounge access do I have in KUL? It looks like there's a Cathay First lounge I could use, do I also get access to the Malaysian Platinum Suite? Flying in Y on a QF booking if that makes any difference.

When are you travelling? 3K is not apart of one world so you have no lounge access in Kul. MH doesn't join until 1st Feb. sorry

I do this every few weeks - nothing unfortunately, and be prepared to also spend time waiting in the departure area longer than you plan.. Always seems to take longer than it should!

Another question that you may know the answer to, what do you do with baggage if staying in the hotel inside Changi terminal overnight between QF1 and a 3K connection?

If you're staying at the airside hotel (I.e. not the Crowne) then when in KUL you should check your baggage straight through - however 3K sometimes don't like to do it if its not on the same itinerary/PNR - have had that a few times; had to exit and re-enter. I make it a point to carry on where possible. Am actually doing that next Monday (staying airside) and will definitely be carrying on only.

And on the way up from SYD, I presume I can just check-in all the way through in SYD to KUL (on the same PNR) despite an overnight in the airside hotel?

Yup - they'll interline on the same PNR with no issues.

MH joining won't give access whilst travelling on 3K flight either, but of course will give access to KUL-SIN or KUL-SYD routes on oneworld.

Except out of Perth.

Last month, Mrs C had a ticket purchased through the QF web site - Perth to coughet via Sinagapore.

QF to Singapore and then Jetstar to coughet, all on the same PNR.

Upon check- in at Perth, QF only checked her bag to SIN.

She has Silver status and demanded to see the duty supervisor who again refused the request.

At the transfer desk in Singapore, the staff were most upset at the situation.

Eventually they found her bag and transferred it to the Jetstar flight.

when you arrive at SIN go to the QF transfer desk and they should reroute your bag without you having to clear immigration, worse case scenario you will have to clear immigration and do early check in - shouldnt take more than 30 mins.
