Gotta say, excellent friendly and attentive service by all. Very helpful ground staff who got me to wait while confirming a no-show was no-showing for the earlier flight. And my original routing credit from a US flight last year was sorted out really efficiently over the phone yesterday as well.
Thanks to everyone here. The internet is dangerous! You get interested in something and it turns out other people are crazier than you - and they make you feel doing a status run is normal! Interestingly the CC weren't too surprised, they said being in a plane is a great way to get paperwork done, and that I should go to Darwin next time for the day.

Now I just need to plot and plot for my DONE4 on points December 2013. That will be a great trip.

The main advantage is for a complex trip at the end of next year. I can't find any current info on the current points cost of a DONE4 though or whether and how much a OW explorer can be done on points?

So for partner awards (which this would be) if doing a round the world, up to 24,600 miles total distance would cost 260k being two awards of one up to 15k and one up to 9,600.

Makes me think about my UK / Cyprus trip next year...

DONE4's don't cost points, they cost $$$.

Or you can still spend 280,000 QFF points and do something like SYD-JFK-LHR-LCA-LHR-SYD and have both stopovers in LCA and LHR and possibly on in the USA as well. Plus your luggage allowance would be greater. Not that you would need it.
