All - I was under the impression that by now the WP1 details were to be announced. Have I missed something? don't want to stretch to 3600 if there is no point this year :)

I believe Qantas were never going to release details of Platinum One before the end of the year.

They need to digest Virgin's changes first ...

No (significant) details have been released.

Instead it's been warm promises, confusion over the requirements and vague thoughts.

Will be interesting what they come up with.

There is at least 1 AFF member who is showing P1 as their QF tier level. Maybe ask them?

I would also suggest the VA WP status match hit with the force of 18 ( that was the number of VA WP benefits?) RPGs exploding all at once in AJ's office.

Right on the money Mal.
I am pretty sure that upgrade certs or similar will be offered since VA Plat now lists it as a benefit.

QF are well and truly in the catch-up game now in terms of benefits for their WP's and WP1's.
2 benefits that they offer don't even work properly; priority boarding and priority luggage.
For once, pax are on the winning side of things, hello competition.

Jobu will easily hit WP1, if he/she continues their flying patterns.

You are probably right, but at the moment we don't actually know what the requirements are for WP1. We have been told 3600 SC's, only to then hear that there will be a QF metal element to that. QF could also add a requirement for you to be 4' 9" tall, one legged and called Jeremiah Thrippence-Field-Pattinson.

Nah, just need to be of Irish decent and having a last name ending in J. ;)

So you saw P1 listed as well?

I did ask Jobu about the P1 listing but have not yet received a reply.

He has replied to your question on WP1 in the other thread.

We shall all wait and we shall all see Tony. ;)
VA upped the anti, QF now have to impress, if not, why bother staying with QF after 1200sc count (or after 2400)?

If Qantas wants to compete with Virgin this will now need to be at the Platinum level not Platinum One level.

No point Qantas giving Platinum One upgrade certificates and leaving Platinum with nothing again,

My reasoning? I don't believe too many Platinum Ones, or even Platinum Partner Gold, will be leaving Qantas for Virgin. It will be the Platinums that are more than likely going to leave and that is where Qantas wll need to focus.
