You must fly a minimum four eligible flight segments on Qantas, QantasLink or Jetstar and earn the required status credits to retain/attain during your membership Year

Question - is a classic award an eligible flight segment - I realise it earns no points but does it count towards maintaining status eligibility?

Short answer: no

I think an eligible sector is one that would normally earn points and status credits.

No, besides nil points/SC you won't get the all important squiggle ~ on classic awards.

Hmm. Technically you could earn zero sc but points on a fare (eg. Fed govt rate). But yes, a classic award doesn't count.

I think it's the other way around. You'll earn SC but not points.
