YouPlateIt is a meal planning & food delivery service operating in Perth that Mrs Excel & I have used over the course of the last six months. Portion sizes for 2 or 4 adults or a "Family" size at 2 adults plus 2-3 kids, and you can select 2-5 recipes per week from around six that they put together.
I'd strongly recommend the service - we have compared it to other services like Hello Fresh and have found that YouPlateIt's:
- Food is fresher as it is mostly sourced in WA,
- Recipes contain more ingredients - you only need to have milk, eggs, butter/oil, salt & pepper in your pantry.
- Delivery times are far more convenient - daytime Sunday- whereas Hello Fresh is either overnight or daytime, which doesn't work with people that have day jobs and nowhere to safely receive boxes if not at home.
The other things we like is that the recipes include pictures, portions are generally very well controlled so there is minimal food wastage, and the packaging is biodegradable or recyclable.
The 2 adult, 2 meal box is $68 so you could, in theory, try it for $18 if using the $50 referral code, which is up from $25 under a previous offer.
