I'd paid almost zero attention to YouTube prior to COVID, only to search-out content others had recommended to me, or to find specific information (eg. I'd bought a used car for my sister, wanted to give it an oil-change before handing it over, everything under the engine was totally covered by a plastic aerodynamics-tray thingy which had hidden fasteners I couldn't work-out ... but a few YouTube searches told me how to remove it).
But when COVID happened & I was doom-scrolling for entertainment, I guess I started looking at flight & aircraft related stuff on YouTube, and a good proportion of those people had videos suggested to me by the YouTube algorithm. I'm kinda over them now, but back then I often had the videos running in the background on my second screen while working, normally in a window underneath my work stuff so I could only hear it rather than seeing it.
They still pop-up as suggestions by the YouTube algorithm now, even though they rarely get clicked-on.
