I saw an blogger testing out a new kind of travel pillow called Ovaer, invented by a guy in Sweden, and as I have an upcoming long haul flight in Y I thought that I would order one to try it out.

We have all seen the blow-up ones and then there is the round flower type ones that takes up a load of space. This one is similar to the blow up ones but with a few distinct features. It is encased in a fabric, it has a built in hoodie for privacy and you can wear it as you go onto the flight. It merely looks like a scarf with a hoodie (the hoodie can be detached).

It goes all around your neck and supports the head. No more head falling forward or onto your neighbours shoulder, drooling and looking stupid. It has a big blow up valve, one blow and its full, emptying it takes less then 5 seconds. Pull up the hoodie and you have complete blackout.

I thought it would be fairly uncomfortable, as it goes around the whole neck, that I would get a strangling kind of feeling but it didn't. Just wear it a bit looser and its not a problem, it is way more comfortable then I thought and it is really supporting the entire head. Its a really relaxing feeling, where I can sit down and relax shoulders and neck and still be in a comfortable position, even if I am sitting in Y. I would say that this would be one of my best investments, after the Bose QC25s, when it comes to flying. Spending a lot of hours in Y, this will make a huge difference, especially since I have issues with neck and lower back.

It did come at a price though, it has to be ordered online and its about $100AUD, then postage was really reasonable at $16AUD. Shipping did take a long time though, it took almost a month before I got it.
