With the current issue with Tiger and with every media outlet showing people complaining about missed holidays additional cost, etc

I would have thought, this is the purpose of why you should have travel insurance, am i right or wrong?

There is discussion of this on the Delay thread but thoughts have been raised that Insurance won't cover regulatory issues committed by airlines.

I just feel sorry for all travelers so awfully inconvenienced. :(

Even if the reason for delay/cancellation was covered, passengers on budget airlines such as Tiger may well be too price-conscious to cough-up for insurance premiums on top of the fare. Just "the nature of the beast" I'd say.

Would that be across all TI providers

Possibly the case, but not unique to Tiger

Will depend on the T&Cs of each.
I've seen a few refs online to some policies excluding regulatory issues, but haven't looked into individual policies

My corporate travel insurance policy does not cover any travel on Tiger :) Enough said!

Wow that is straight to the point, what about other LCC?

any losses directly or indirectly arising from or in any way connected or associated with services provided by Air
Canada, Meridiana Fly S.P.A, Tiger Airways Australia, U.S. Airways, Red Wings Airlines, PAWA Dominicana and
Acerca, or Air Zimbabwe.
Interesting to see Air Canada there as well!

Most people would be amused/angered (depending on if they'd paid yet or not) with what their TI policy doesn't cover in relation to airlines.
