What can I say, lounge access would be interesting:

Days before a gridiron player was arrested on a US Airways flight at San Francisco airport following a dispute over his saggy pants, the airline allowed another man wearing skimpy women's panties and mid-thigh stockings to fly, according to a passenger and airline spokeswoman.
Jill Tarlow, a passenger on a June 9 flight from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Phoenix, took a photo of the scantily clad man, which she provided to the San Francisco Chronicle. The newspaper published the photo in its Wednesday edition.

Personally I'm pleased to see proper stockings are making a come-back. Pantyhose have never really done it for me.

The airline has said Marman (the gridiron player refused boarding) was exposing a body part on June 15 when he was repeatedly asked to pull up his pants.

His attorney, Joe O'Sullivan, said surveillance video would show his client's skin was not showing....

"A white man is allowed to fly in underwear without question, but my client was asked to pull up his pyjama pants because they hung below his waist."

I'm wondering if said man in panties and stockings is none other than Joe O'Sullivan, Marman's solicitor - out to prove a point??

I would happily donate to any fund set up to have markis10 dress in lingerie with stockings and fly from say BNE to SYD or MEL

I'll start the ball rolling,

$100.00

I have no issue with people wearing whatever most of the time - but he should not have worn those little knickers - and I find it totally offensive....

Blue is clearly not his colour

On a more serious note: why did the article say "a white man is allowed to fly in underwear" - was the white relevant? Surely a "man is allowed" is sifficient?

*or does the image of a white man in underwear make it even grosser - admittedly if it were not a white man, there may be more to admire*

The most surprising thing about the photograph for me is that he has only one carry on bag*, and it is a reasonable size.

I must admit a black wrap around or cardigan would have been more suitable though. White with the black stockings looks a bit cheap.

* I am assuming that the bag in the photograph belongs to him.

And I'm assuming you are referring to the bag on the floor.

If he were in the premium cabin I think it should have been a coughtail dress with heels.

Was on a flight back from Darwin recently in J, guy in middle seats bulkhead was wearing a singlet, I was nearly sick as he put his belongings in overhead with all his under arm hair sticking out, come on Qantas you can do better than this.

What - you feel Qantas should provide underarm waxing services or something? Seriously, explain why someones underarm hair nearly made you sick. I can't wait to hear this one...

He was a bit overdressed for DRW, probably was not even wearing flip flops.

It's mentioned because the guy who wasn't allowed to fly because of his baggy pants was not white. Hence the implication that there may have been some underlying racism involved.
Plus what is it with the US and 'dress standards'? Wasn't there a whole thing about SouthWest denying boarding to a girl because her outfit was 'too skimpy' and then they went and plastered one of their planes with a billboard size picture of a woman in a bikini.

I am now extremely glad I am very short sighted. If I saw that man in public I would take off my glasses, very quickly.
