Also applicable for Virgin to AUH I believe:

We are increasing our baggage allowance in Coral Economy to 30kg, so all you have to worry about when packing is making sure you have everything you need.

Now you can pack more when flying with us, no matter which class you fly in.
You can now enjoy 30kgs in Coral Economy Class, in addition to our existing generous allowances of 40kg in Pearl Business Class, and 50kg in Diamond First Class.

And remember, Etihad Guest members also receive an extra allowance over and above these allowances:

Additional baggage allowances for
Etihad Guest members
Silver Guest 10kg
Gold Guest 15kg
Gold Elite Guest 20kg

I cannot understand what clothing you would pack in a suitcase that could possibly weigh 30 or more kg.

A couple of years ago I spent nearly 2 months in a European autumn /winter, my bag was full and weighed about 20 kg. What else would you take to have a bag weigh another 10kg ?

Its not a piece system, it's weight, and if your travelling to a conference or exhibition, those last minute brochures can weight a lot when marketing forget to courier them.

I must admit I saw the word "Enhance" and thought:

"What have they reduced it to now?"

Pleasant surprise for Etihad traveller I assume

Since I left the workforce I have forgotten about brochures. The last convention I went to in LAS I had to send brochures separately.

I have a marketing department that is often confused with the last minute department.

Depends on your size - at 185cm each pair of shoes weighs a kilo. Chuck in a few gifts, a couple of books and it isnt that hard to get to that weight. Also depends on the weight of the bag as well.
