InterContinental will cease management of four Northern Territory hotels from May 1, three of them in Darwin.

The hotel group said it and Ludvik Berger's Berger Hotel Group, which owns the properties, have both looked at "other opportunties".

The four hotels are the Crowne Plaza Darwin, Holiday Inn Esplanade Darwin, Holiday Inn Darwin and Crowne Plaza Alice Springs.

BUGGER bugger BUGGER. I wonder who will take over, Accor would be the best fit or maybe Sheraton although Ludvik has been there before, as he has with Rydges.

I completely agree. Good development,

I did try to find what was happening, but nothing was coming up!

I suffered two minutes of depression while thinking of my points earning opportunities before I checked HM, the vibe is not a good one when it comes to points options ;)

Just need a Hilton in Canberra. And a DoubleTree in Tassie.

Let's hope so - will be disappointed not to have IHG (having said that, not a frequent visitor to Darwin or ASP so probably doesn't make a huge difference to me).

Darwin is perfect for a Hilton. I could never understand why they didn't have a presence there. Darwin accommodation problem now solved.

Still a HI at Kakadu, and I suspect Hayman will be an IC soon, probably more your style ;)

This makes the move to Hilton and away from IC so much easier. :D

Will stick to IHG RA thanks to the IC benefits (easy requal at $99 a night x 20 bookings at sanctuary cove) and SPG for elsewhere, with Hilton status coming from VA.

The Kakadu HI is owned by the same folks as the HI Townsville - as in locals!

Sure, expect they can then move to whomever makes the best offer - so the question is really how long is the management contracts on those two properties?

Well this is great news! not too fussed on losing PC platinum next year, but this should help to re-qual for HH as I used my VA upgrade already!
