That may work for me but surely that many hours in a LCC is torture?

My biggest complaint from my single flight was the height of headrests was too low. The best bit I found was the seat recline was very limited, which many people hate, but I loved it. That rendered the invisible sign* I carry around meaningless, and my legroom was preserved. If the headrests were higher, I would actually like the seat.

* apparently I carry around an invisible sign above my head that I can't see, but the person in front of me can see, that says "one minute after takeoff you must fully recline your seat, and even during meals, it is OK to keep it reclined, even if asked to put it back up. In fact keep the seat reclined right up until just before landing, or even during landing if no-one asks you to put it back up".

I thought I was the unlucky one with chronic recliners. That's why I try to make sure I get bulkhead at all times and to not accept last minute op-ups to premium economy.

And just thinking out loud again but for booking so far in advance that's not such a special price is it?

I looked for specific dates in October 2017 and $418 was the cheapest. Going to Europe I need checked luggage - that's +A$188 return. Meals and luggage is +A$318 return. Not that special. But $2400 for return scoot biz seems attractive - just to convince SWMBO that it's not really business.

ScootBiz is the only way I would consider flying them, the cabin & seat are far superior to JQ 787.

Had no trouble sleeping soundly on SIN-TPE redeye with them recently and the food is half decent (don't think it's a bottomless bar though but didn't think to ask).

For just a few dollars more (in some cases less - if you used the recent UL fare for $1800 out of KUL for example) you could fly Jetsrar to Asia and connect out of there in true business class on the likes of VN, UL or AY.

As for the 'standard' fares... airlines are currently offering $900 fares return to Europe - full service. The savings seems insignificant for the level of discomfort :(

I found the marketing interesting. "We're popping our European cherry" and, when you open the link, the sign up for the newsletter is "Are you getting it daily". Seems odd for a Singaporean carrier.

A day in SIN would be fine with me... The extras are where a cheap airfare will add up very quickly

Ok, they only fly to Paris, but I'd be putting my money to VN on this route - ~$1100 return, full service, 28 hours total journey time. 787 connecting to an A350. And the chance of cancellation (of the route) is highly unlikely for VN.

UL currently AUD1837 return from KUL to Europe (must travel by Nov, but these fares are not unusual). Add on Air Asia to/from KUL for ~$400 and you are close to the price of Scoot's offering for their premium cabin.
