He says creating revenue rather than just cutting costs is why Virgin Australia is creating 350 new jobs by building a new hanger in Sydney and why it took 100 call centres jobs back from Asia, at extra expense but better productivity.

"It gets down to strategy and ours is simple - we're an Australian carrier, this is where we are focusing our energies," he says.

Creating revenue? what are these weird words that this tree-loving hippie speaks?
 
It will be interesting to see what they do with Pacific Blue once it's rebranded as VA at the end of the year, they've escaped being tarred with the same brush as QF and JQ for similar decisions so far.
