The time has come for another RTW trip.
Tomorrow it's onto the bird PER-SYD to position for the start of this year's DONE5 on Wednesday, finishing on 9 April.
Here's the plan:
PER-SYD(positioning)-DFW-BZE-DFW-SJD-ORD-LAX-xJFK-SCL-xMAD-AMM-DOH-xLHR-DEL-xHKG-HND-SYD-PER(re-positioning).
The core objectives are to cruise the Chilean fjords on a local small ship (MV Skorpios II - Skorpios Cruises) and drive through the Andes to the W Argentina wine region to experience it in summer after previously going in late winter, and then to be in Japan for sakura (cherry blossom).
The Chile/Argentina section will see me pairing up with Rooflyer for the cruise and drive . A few bits and pieces make for an introduction (Austin, Belize, Mexico) and for mid-point fillers (Jordan, Qatar, N India).
Let's see how this plays out...
Most of the TR will be after my return, with a bit of posting along the way. Of course, no doubt Rooflyer will be covering the Chile & Argentina section in his customary superlative style . My chance to see the master in action .
Here's the cruise route:
And the JohnM/Rooflyer driving loop:
I am led to believe that there are some good milkbars around Mendoza...
