And so the countdown begins, well, the final countdown that is...

DRW - SYD (QF J) - MEL (QF J) - LHR (Via DXB QF F) - VIENNA (BA J)
ROME - LHR (BA J) - SYD (Via DXB QF F) - DRW (QF J)

I though I could use this as an opportunity to share the plans made to date and the preparation for the trip, having not had a major holiday in over 2 years now.

21 days, or 3 weeks to go and have today only just ordered new luggage from Bagworld.com.au (Not affiliated), consisting:

2x Samsonite B'Lite Xtra 77cm @ $239.50
1x Samsonite B'Lite Xtra 55cm @ $161.40
1x Samsonite Ultralite 8 Garment @ $167.40

Total of $807.60 Inc GST and Free Shipping.

We are still tracking down internal flights, namely Vienna - Athens, Athens - Dublin and Dublin - Rome, however having left the internal flights quite late, we are struggling to find award availability.

Keep your eyes on this thread, or help us out with ideas along the way...

Look forward to sharing the journey.

Sounds like a fun trip, ridiculous how we have to go via the east coast if we want to use QF though.

Scott.
