MEL-SYD QF Y
SYD-AKL LAN J
Weekend trip, half relaxation trip (Yes I find flying relaxing especially in J) ;) half status run.
--

MEL-SYD on QF Y pretty smooth and uneventful, arrived early so headed over to Syd Intl and checked in, straight through to Immi using Express Pass (there was at least 200 people in the general line).

Arrived to a very packed QF J lounge, got a Barista made coffee some food and then tried to find a seat luckily I found a nice airside sunny spot!

Left for the gate 10 mins before boarding started, by the time I walked to the gate the priority boarding had just started so proceeded directly onto the plane, no queue :)

Now for the obligatory AFF foot shot:

The LAN A340 J Class was fantastic to say the least and the flat beds were great, I pretty much had the entire row 1 to myself.
LAN staff onboard were very friendly and spoke to me by name without manifest!

After hearing on here that LAN J food was not too crash hot I wasn't expecting much, was pleasantly surprised with the Breakfast it was delicious and filling.
Omelette, 2 Slices of Banana Bread, sauteed mushrooms, grilled tomato, hot bread roll or pastries, Chilean jam.

A very dark grey day in Auckland, not to worry as only there for a short time, a trip to the Skytower followed by a walk around town.

On the flight back @ OMG O'clock, relaxed in the AKL J lounge, was virtually empty except for a few:

Overall impressions of LAN are very positive, staff were great, food was good, J class hard product very good IMHO.

Oh would be interesting to hear from AFFers that have flown LAN J in the past, based on my pictures is the food the same or has it changed?

Enjoy!
