Mini-TR.
I do this route with QF but have moved some flights to BA due to pricing.
The product is good bang for buck IMHO.

Every trip starts in with Flounging time.
I had a few glasses of bubbles then settled on the Salmon.

And some onboard pics ...

The Seat shots.
This is 62A uppder deck of the B747 rear facing. A very good seat indeed. Infact any upper deck facing INTO the exit row or the last two window seats all have nobody climbing over them from what I can tell:

Foot rest ... this folds down and sits in various positions.

Food. Entre was a nice salad. Main was cough (oily lamb shank stew and no flavour).
I forgot to take a shot of the meal before landing into SING. Choice was a sandwich or lentil and fetta salad. I had the salad which was very nice.
Also had constant glasses of bubbles which they kept coming back to top up.
After dinner I had the cheese plate (2 types of cheese) with grapes and more bubbles.

Summary.
Will I continue to use BA (based on a price point) vs QF. Yes.
Is the B747 as good as a A380. No. The B747 is showing her age and a little 'ruff' around the edges.
But I don't care, i kind of like that. Especially being in the upper deck. It feels more private and not like a barn. The toilet to pax ratio is also what I like as the bubbles just seem to go right through me for some reason

Cheers for the photos. What's it like going backwards on a plane? Not a big fan on the bus or train so wondering if the effect is amplified?

IMO it's ok.....it's weird to have a window seat looking into the engines rather than over the top of them.

The first time I did it I wondered the same thing.
Now I wouldn't hesitate whatsoever. Funny enough, I now look to book rear facing.
And it is nothing like backwards on bus or train as there is no sensation of 'backward' when in the air ... it actually feels natural or same as forward facing IMHO.

My wife is trying out the BA 740-400 J class to LHR next month (with 1 QF operated sector I believe). Her only other J experience thus far has been QF A380 and VA 777 so I'll be very interested to hear here comparison.
