I am travelling to the USA in April and was under the impression that Virgin FF Platinum were eligible to use the Delta Lounge when flying with them But their website states the following - "Virgin Australia Velocity Gold and Platinum members travelling on a flight operated by Delta or Virgin Australia Airlines. Please show a physical Delta Sky Club membership card for lounge access.""

How many Gold/ Platinum FF would have a Delta Sky Club membership card???? . This does not make sense to me.

You are permitted access. Show your VFF WP card & your DL BP on entry. Be prepared though that the person at the desk might confuse you with VX or VS.

That's almost certainly a cut and paste error.

You certainly have access ...

Here's the Delta access page - indeed it's been updated recently but, yes, with an error! Looks like a poor cut an paste web page - even the title is incorrect.

VIRGIN AUSTRALIA CLUB ACCESS

Virgin Australia Velocity Gold and Platinum members traveling on a flight operated by Delta or Virgin Australia Airlines. Please show a physical Delta Sky Club membership card for lounge access.
I think the bit in red should read "Velocity Gold or Velocity Platinum membership card."

Here's from the Velocity site: (https://www.velocityfrequentflyer.com/content/Status/InternationalLoungeAccess/index.htm)

*Sky Club access available at certain ports only. For full details go to delta.com/clublocations. Please be aware that Delta’s club locations webpage also lists Delta-partnered lounges. Velocity Members may not have access to Delta-partnered lounges.

Footnote: I really wish they'd change that text as it HAS led to confusion:

Thanks for the replies. I have a long stop over at LAX and hope to spend it in the Delta Lounge.

We were allowed into the delta lounge in LAX a few months ago for our wait for an Orlando flight. Just showed my platinum card and no worries. Very helpful staff.

Thanks, that's good to know. I also will be waiting for a flight to Orlando.

Yep, the DL lounge staff at LAX are really very nice - and they actually know what the Velocity card is, so there's no explaining that needs to be done :)

Hi all, thanks for bringing this to our attention. We'll flag it with Delta and get them to amend their website. As several people have already pointed out, Golds and Platinums can access Delta Sky Club on presentation of their Velocity card and same day DL boarding pass.

I am currently in the Delta Sky Lounge in Orlando. Had no trouble gaining entry. Staff very friendly and it's very relaxing lounge. Next stop LAX, will check out the Delta lounge there.

In three visits I never had an issue at MCO. IIRC, a nice lounge with a white latticey old money sort of aura in the decor. Extremely friendly lounge staff ...

And to complete the thread, the Delta web page has been updated:
[h=3]Virgin Australia Club access[/h] Virgin Australia/Velocity VIP Platinum card, Platinum card or Gold card members traveling on a flight operated by Delta or Virgin Australia Airlines must show membership card for lounge access. Virgin Australia Business class passengers must show same-day business class boarding pass for lounge access.

As a follow up, in the last week or two I have used DL skyclubs in LAX, ATL(x2), ORD, JFK, SLC and RDU no issues at all. Staff at RDU had never seen a Velocity card before but after they looked it up I was allowed in no dramas.

Reluctantly allowed entrance into Delta Sky Club lounge in LAX as Platinum member. Was told that we had to be just off an international flight and connecting to another DL flight to have access to the lounge. Went to clarify it with another desk agent and they agreed.
I'm confused as previously we haven't had any problems accessing the lounge flying anywhere domestically on DL on individual flights.

Hmmm... LAX has usually been the place where the rules were best understood.

I hope this is cleared up quickly as i've bought quite a few DL tix in the next couple of months.

Hmmm. Bought my domestic delta flights specifically due to lounge access.

The access rules have not changed since then.

If you have any problems ask them to compare with the AS rules wich specially refer to international travel whereas the VA rules do not.

I still believe the text should indicated domestic itinerary access allowed as the VA rules are the exception.

Just make sure that if your Velocity card is the prepaid Visa type, don't show the side with Visa on it as they say it is a credit card and want your actual Velocity card. Seems not all partner staff know what it is. And when the lady in the Miami Delta club showed me the picture on her monitor it only had the old cards on it.
