Booked a delta flight from NYC to Nashville, was $151 one way (promo economy fare class x) giving 15 status credits, At the end of the booking it offered to upgrade to first class (fare class g) for $39, considering adding baggage on the promo fare was gonna add $25 and the first class ticket had 2 bags included, that was the best quadrupling of SCs I've ever had, now hopefully it will go thru the VA system smoothly....

Which FF number were you using to book this? Velocity or Delta Skymiles? What status level are you (if you don't mind me asking)?

Booked thru Deltas website, using my VA Frequent flyer no., and am Plat with VA, hope this helps!!...

and, im under no illusion that even though delta call this first class it will more than likely be less of an experience that Virgin Domestic J or even the older domestic PE but hey 60 SCs in total (45 of them for $39!!!)

Sweet deal. Well done.

Think MSP as a connection east/west ...

MSP from my limited experience is a nice place to connect.

The OP will find that DL's F is similar to VA's J. My DL flights usually credited within 72 hours.

Absolutely great,
This has me thinking and looking at fares

haha!! It Had me in velocitys website looking at the earn status credits table and calculator and fare class tables lol and was shocked at the huge win!

I just bummed out on my search - ran into a DL flight on Alaska metal - bugger!

Best you stay away from the Alaskan metal at least for VFF purposes as I found out last year. AS are no DL even if they might like to think they are.

It is a great airport especially for the US. Free ipads to serve the net and a very nice Delta lounge.
