AA ticketing classes - what doesn't earn QFF SCs or Points

Hello everyone,

THis has probably been discussed a hundred times, but can anyone confirm what ticket classes on AA do not earn QFF SCs or points. I am doing a RTW (unfortunately this has to be Discount Economy), and flying on a AA ticket MEL to CHI via LAX - this is AA7349, but QF service. I was told that certain ticket classes have no QFF benefits. I am close to getting gold status, so the SCs are nice...

The rest of the trip is Iberia and BA - so no problems with SCs/points in discount economy I believe.

If anyone can shed light on this I would be most appreciative.

You would appear to be safe unless in Q or O class. The standard OW Explorer RTW normally books into L class.

That will depend on the fare rules associated with the specific fare type you have purchased.

I would guess anything is possible if you are willing to pay the change fees associated with the ticketing rules. Probably not very useful on an economic/financial basis. Note that if booked (and held) on the AA USA site, a call (Skype?) to AA web services will normally allow the fare class to be upgraded/changed before payment.

Pity QF won't do the same since most of what is now offered on the QF web site will only credit to QF.

Obviously I need to be faster to keep up with NM.
