I've been having a looking through the Smart Traveller site but it's not entirely clear.

https://smartraveller.gov.au/countries/thailand

I will be flying into Thailand and 'entering' as my onward flight leaves the next morning (and I need to change airports).

Likewise when coming back, I have to change airports so need to 'enter' the country.

This is over the space of just over a week.

The 30 day visa exemption that applies to Australian passport holders - is that valid for doing the above, or do I need to look into the new 60 day multi entry visa?

http://www.mfa.go.th/main/en/services/4908/15380-Questions-&-Answers-on-Thai-Visa.html seems to suggest the 30 day visa exemption does allow this, but I just want to be sure! Paging JessicaTam who I believe did this recently :)

Answering my own question here after a quick chat with Mrs Flashback to jog my memory. When we did Thailand and Laos last year, we did exactly that as when we arrived on Bangkok Air, we then collected our bags and re-checked as we were meeting a friend land side. Looks like there are no issues with doing this after having reviewed my passport and finding the 2 entry stamps in the space of less than 30 days.

Hope it helps someone else who has the same question!

Heck, on status runs I've done this multiple times per day. Twice in a month- they won't bat an eyelid.

You'll be fine Flashback!

I have had multiple entries/exits into Thailand multiple times on most trips. Have never had an issue although sometimes immigration may take a few extra seconds trying to work out what I am doing.

Yep same here. Multiple entries (one for just an hour recently!) and no major questions. If you're constantly getting back-to-back visas, then you'll get some major questions.
