Given they use miles purchased, not sure how your problem will be solved by paying more! Availability if it exists will show on award traveller, KVS etc.

Relevent question - relevent answer - was more a fishing excercise on my behalf to see if they may have found alternatives I may not have spotted myself.

I can get SQ into PVG but its 01:20 ex SIN into PVG 6am - then gotta get to Suzhou that day or waste a day in SH.

FWIW they seem to have a spot of bother actually reading at AFG - the details I supplied to them:

1. Number of Travelers. - One (1)
2. Origin City - Melbourne Australia (MEL)
3. Destination City - Shanghai China (PVG)
4. Departure Date - 25 February, 2013
5. Return Date - 3 March, 2013
6. Flexibility of dates (+/- 1 or 2 days can save a lot!) - YES flexible 1 or 2 days

Their response:

   - Outbound 26th May (1 Stop via CAN)
   - Return 5th Jun (1 Stop via CAN)
   - $3429 AUD
2. China Air / Singapore Air .
   - Outbound 23th May (Non-Stop)
   - Return 4th Jun (1 Stop via SIN)
   - $2999 AUD
3. Singapore Air .
   - Outbound 27th May (1 Stop via SIN)
   - Return 4th Jun (1 Stop via SIN)
   - $2999 AUD
