Booking domestic unborn baby ticket

My wife is 6 weeks away with no. 1 and we were looking at booking to see grandparents in July during school holidays. So we are looking to get in early before prices go up.

We keeping it a surprise so we don't know if its M/F let alone a name.

So my question is - HBA to NTL on VA (gold)- we don't have a name to put in to book. What do we do? Name changes charges will apply?

I know a plus bundle on JQ will do - but not keen flying them...

Get on the phone, or put down a name and just go with it. My children have never been asked for ID on domestic legs.

And newborns don't have id anyway other than a birth certificate and I'd never bother to take that with me when travelling. They wouldn't even know if a boy or girl if dressed in say, bright colours.

Being that they aren't taking a revenue seat i can't see a problem in it. they may let you add them in later.

You can add the infant ticket later after he/she is born and named. You don't have to do it now.

I have booked my ticket for VA SYD-ADL using my free Amex flight entitilement. Later I called up Velocity to add Edison Junior to my ticket. They have no issues with it and ticket got reissued with my name and my son's name. There is also no cost to add it later.

Just letting you know we had a baby girl - Zoe Mrs smatho10 and myself are soooo proud!!

I've also notice on the virgin website - there are comments in the travelling in the infants and children bit that to put down TBA for first name and TBA in the second name. Today's date as the DOB..

anyway dont have to worry now.. But should sign Zoe for velocity.. Because I can.. No point at the moment but hey.. Proud dad....
