Need somewhere convenient, airport shuttle, good bar, decent bed and some night life.

Have stayed previously at the intercom, which was great but too far out for this jaunt.

I am IHG plats but a nothing Hilton..

Plans are currently 11 dec.

Also best J class seating on the FJ bird? Row 1? I believe they are the old Ansett 747-s is that correct?

I dont know about nightlife but the Novotel is close and often you get crews in there which tend to habit the bar:

Hotel Novotel Nadi: travel, stay or vacation, holiday at NADI

$70 for the night you are looking at and includes a free shuttle.

If you search there's a good FJ TR with a seat map. For my trip in late December I've chosen 1 on the way back but I think it's row 5 on the way there. This seat is in the middle (roughly where the old spiral staircase was on a 747-238) so you're slap bang in the middle with doors 1L and 1R opposite and no one in front. I think that's pretty sweet!

Row 5 is good. I choose 1A both ways recently, that's me though. Some might find row 5 has too much space either side of it? Row 7 & 8 at the back don't have power and are right next to the galley. Row 1 has the wardrobe in front of it so good to store a larger carry on. Also get to have that weird view taxing outside when you're in front of the wheel.

Honestly no J seats are bad, plenty of leg room. If you want the privacy of the front + 4 windows to yourself then row 1, if you want space and be first on/off then row 5. It's much the same, just consider 7 & 8 the worst. Sam probably has it right - room on the way there, sleep on the way back ;)

I have a SC run to fiji on leaving Dec 3rd .... Sooo looking forward to it.
Row 1 for the partner and I!

there is a place opposite the airport, can't recall the name but you should be able to find it on google maps. Nice outdoor bar, rooms nothing special, food average, but soooo handy and reasonably priced. Can see the planes @ the terminal, we stayed the night the A380 pulled in and viewed it from our room. There is a shuttle bus, but when we realised how close we were we decided to just walk back next day. Cheers skip

Raffles Gateway Hotel. Main advantage is the location and that the 5 minute to airport shuttle runs on demand unlike the hotels further away which may only have shuttles every 30 minutes in the morning. Disadvantage is that if the bar area is too quiet for you there isn't an alternative in walking distance.

Novotel Is $70 and Raffles is $163. I think I might try the Novotel on this occassion.

Raffles appears to be the most conveniently located though.

Thanks for the helpful advise all
